Freedom Starts with a Good Haircut

Seriously.  As soon as you let yourself get bogged down with hair that requires a curling iron, curlers, straightening, blow-drying, styling, dying, or braiding, you have perched at the top of the slippery slope that includes ironing underwear and tattooing makeup on your eyelids.  Every now and then I just say “Cut it.  Cut it off.”

  1. If that’s the new cut, I like what I can see. When we were headed out on a 3-week trip in our camper about 5 years ago, I had John buzz cut my hair. I liked it, but it took longer to grow out than I expected. Our hair-cutter nearly had a coronary when she saw me the first time. Until a couple of weeks ago, though, my hair has almost always been shorter than John’s.

  2. I have to agree. I got my hair cut short as a resident and have never gone back. It’s so nice to be able to wash (ok and comb briefly) and go.

  3. I hope you’ll be able to come to knit-in; I’m sure we’ll all be amazed at what appears to be an amazing cut. What a tease you are!

  4. Essie, what a treat to meet you and the other knitters! And I LOVE the hair cut. It’s a great look for you!

  5. That’s beautiful! I swear my hair feels “happy” after a cut. I’m scheduled a week from today for a cut and highlighting. I’m getting it done just before James’s wedding. Have to look good for all the ex relatives 🙂 What I wouldn’t give for a broken leg or something…and can you imagine the bride’s mother having a “get to know you” dinner? What is the purpose of putting people who don’t like each other in a room together? I don’t think there are going to be any group hugs.
