p.s. I'm not sure I understand the Estonian cast-on, but I'll give it a try. I have started using Portuguese style knitting/purling, and love it. I just haven't figured out how to do a SSK. 8^)

Yes, it's surprising to me that people fail to believe responsible, honest, first-hand information. The American public seems more than ready to believe those orchestrated soundbites and scare tactics that are so prevalent. Even simple information, like the fact that Medicare is a government-run program, is vastly distorted and widely ignored.

Wonderfully inspiring thoughts. The Bill Moyers interview with Mr. Potter was truly eye opening, yet nothing overtly apparent has come from this. It just seems to me that the government would want to pursue investigation into some of the blatant Sherman Antitrust Act and other regulation violations that Potter hits on.

If you're interested, I posted a blog entry on some settled and on-going private lawsuits against Cigna for some of the things Potter disclosed in his interview and Congressional testimony under http://doctorblue.wordpress.com "Are Medical Insurers Sacred Cows?"

There's also a short 12-minute video on health care reform featuring Potter, Obama, members of Congress, insurance reps, and me at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wex7Qv8IEnQ&NR=1

I became disabled while insured by Cigna because its providers did nothing more than refer me from one test and specialist to the next. Under our current insurance-created medical system, doctors have only 5 minutes to diagnose and treat patients and under these conditions, in my humble opinion, no one is being correctly diagnosed. Doctors are simply prescribing pharmaceuticals to mask the symptoms that flare up. The symptoms are actually messengers or flags of underlying disease which is what doctors really should be addressing.

As a result, you taxpayers are now paying unnecessarily for my Medicare and my Disability income while Cigna continued to reap substantial profits.
